Cycling Road Road cycling is practiced by millions of people around the world everyday.  Road cycling ranges from professional racing to the casual around the neighborhood recreational ride.  Bicycles intended for primarily riding on the road range in price from about $200 to over $10,000.  Mountain Biking  Mountain biking is also practiced by many people around the world.  Mountain bikes were originally designed for
primarily off-road riding, but many hybrid models exist today which allow the rider to ride both on- and off-road. Many mountain bikes contain front and rear suspension components that allow them to withstand the bumps and shocks of very uneven terrain without transmitting the shock to the rider.  This allows the rider to maintain control of the bike in very adverse terrain conditions.  As with road bikes, they range in price from a few hundred dollars to over $10,000.
